OUR WORSHIP

“Lamb of God” is one of the titles the Bible gives to Jesus, which reminds us that Jesus has taken away the sins of the whole world by his death on the cross, thereby establishing peace between us and God. We gather for worship to receive that peace from our God, and to be reassured that because Jesus lived, died, and rose again to save us, the almighty God is our friend. He will always care for us and provide for us throughout our lives on earth, and at last bring us to eternal life in heaven when we die. Our worship focuses on Jesus and everything he has done to bring us this lasting peace, both for our lives here on earth and for our lives in eternity.

Worship Time: Sunday mornings at 9:30am.

How long is the service? Most of our services last around an hour.

What will I be expected to do? You can follow along with the service on the worship screen or follow along in the printed service folder—so you don’t need to worry about getting lost or not knowing what to do. As a new visitor, you can expect to be greeted warmly, but not singled out. Our service consists of hymns and songs, scripture readings, a sermon, and prayers. If you are comfortable singing along, join in! If not, you can just listen.

Where should I sit? Anywhere you’d like! You will enter the worship area from the back, so feel free to sit anywhere you feel comfortable.

What should I wear? Some people come in business casual attire, others in jeans or shorts. We don’t care what you’re wearing, just put clothes on. If they match, even better!

What about the offering? We’re not after your money. We’re after your heart. We just want to give you the peace of Jesus that he has given to us. For that reason, we don’t want you to put a dime in the offering plate unless you want to. So please do not feel obligated to give. You are our guest, and it is our privilege to serve you during worship.

What about the kids? Because the biggest spiritual influences in a child’s life will inevitably be his or her parents, we want children in church with their parents, so that the whole family can grow up worshiping together. Please don’t feel bad if your children act up in worship! The sights and sounds of active children are a great joy to us and evidence that God is blessing our future even now.

We have a special children’s message where the children come to the front of church, and our pastor teaches them the message of the service on their level. It is aimed at children ages 3-10.

Also, if for any reason you feel that you need to attend to your children privately during the service, you are always welcome to use the nursery room, which has a window looking into the worship area and a speaker that allows you to hear the service as well.
