    WHO? Starting Point is for anyone. No matter where you are in your faith Starting Point is a learning environment that will help you take the next step in your spiritual growth.  


    WHAT? Do you want to kick the tires of Christianity? Do you want to investigate Lamb of God Lutheran and learn what we are about as a Christian Congregation? Are you a Christian who wants to reexamine the foundation of your faith and grow spiritually? This class is designed to address all of these questions in six lessons.


    God Is... Detectable & Glorious

    God Saves….. Redemption

    God Lives….. Resurrection

    God Listens... Prayer

    God Washes... Baptism

    God Feeds... Communion


    WHEN? Starting Point meets weekly for 6 weeks. Classes last 1 1/4 hours. Three 6 weeks sessions are held each year. Child care available upon request.

  • Women's Bible Study

    Study God's Word with other women in a comfortable in home setting. Contact us for current time, place, and topic. 

  • Men's Group

    Lamb of God's Men's Group meets every first and third Fridays of the month at 7 am. A light breakfast and coffee is served as we study and discuss various books of the Bible, various current topics, and book reviews.

    Our 200 Level Course, called New Life In Christ, is 9-week course for continued spiritual growth.

    201: The Mystery of Our Origin

    The Perfect Planet/The Broken Planet

    Can God really speak things into existence? Agree or Disagree: “The creation account is no longer relevant.” What is a ‘yom’ and why should I care? What about dinosaurs? Is there DNA evidence of two common parents? What does it mean to be “created in the image of God"? Agree or Disagree: “God has met all of my needs in life?” 

     

    202: The Mystery of Our Origin

    Is the Devil real? Where did the evil angels come from? If they are so powerful, shouldn’t I be afraid of them? What exactly is sin? How did sin enter the world? How does sin affect me personally, our children, our society? What is the "Mean Death Rate"? Where is the first promise of a Savior? 


    203: Who is Jesus? 

    How can Jesus be both God and man at the same time? Was it necessary? Where’s the proof? Agree or Disagree: “Jesus is the exclusive Savior of the world.” What is God’s Great Exchange? Agree or Disagree: “All religious paths lead to the same God.”

     

    204: Jesus’ Humiliation

    Why did Jesus have to suffer? If Jesus was God, why didn’t he prevent his crucifixion? From what did Christ redeem me, and why? What does it mean to be “justified” by faith? What is faith? Agree or Disagree: "Salvation is free, but not cheap.” 


    205: Jesus’ Exaltation

    Agree or Disagree: “Christ descended into Hell to suffer.” How important is it for me to believe that the tomb was empty on Easter morning? How does Jesus continue to be our Prophet, Priest, and King? What is the chocolate cake illustration? Agree or Disagree: “The resurrection of Jesus is the most important doctrine in the Bible.” 


    206: Jesus Will Return a Second Time to Judge the Living and the Dead

    What are the signs of the end of the world? What will happen on that day? What does it mean that Satan is loosed? If we are judged at the moment of death, why is there a need for Judgment Day? Agree or Disagree: “By studying Scripture carefully, it’s possible to calculate the exact time when Judgment Day will occur.” 

     

    207: The Important Work of the Holy Spirit

    What is a person’s spiritual condition at birth? If we are saved by faith, where does faith come from? To whom should we give credit for saving faith? What is decision theology? What does it mean to be “born again"? Why do some churches have an "altar call"? Agree or Disagree: “The work of the Holy Spirit is just as important as the work of Christ." 

     

    208: The Bible

    Who wrote it anyway? Did it really take 1600 years to complete? Agree or Disagree: “The Bible is inspired in the same way that the writings of Shakespeare were inspired.” Aren’t there hundreds of thousands of errors in Scripture? What’s the best way to study the Bible? Agree or Disagree: “If the King James Version was good enough for Luther, it should be good enough for us.” 

      

    209: The Holy Spirit Gathers the Church

    What is “church”? How should we express our love for God and for our neighbor? Agree or Disagree: “There is no such thing as a perfect church.” What are the differences between churches and denominations? Is it okay to agree to disagree? How do we lovingly warn those teaching or tolerating error?  


  • New Living in christ, 300 Level course

    Whereas the 200 Level Course was New Life in Christ our 300 Level Coure is New Living in Christ. In this 5-week course we cover the Ten Commandments and Christian Prayer. Knowing all that Christ has done to deleiver us from our sins through His death and resurrection gives us the right incentive to want to live for Him out of thankfulness. The Law of Moses or the Ten Commandments clearly detail God's will for us. 


    301: The Ten Commandment Overview & The First Commandment

    What is meant by the Law? What are the three uses of the Law? How is it that we are not bound to as many laws as the Old Testament believers? What is an idol? What are the top false gods in our day? Agree or Disagree: “A statue of Jesus is not an idol.” 

     

    302: Commandments 2-5

    Is there a difference between swearing and using bad language? What is a proper day to worship? Is it a sin to work on Sunday? Who are the representatives God has placed over us? Are we to obey our government at all times? When does the Bible say life begins? Is abortion murder? What about “pulling the plug” in the hospital? What about capital punishment? Agree or Disagree: 'There is a difference between “killing” and “murdering."' 

      

    303: Commandments 6-7

    Is sex a gift or a commodity? Why doesn’t the church talk about it? Agree or Disagree: “Living together before marriage is a sin.” What does God say to the homosexual? Is it OK to get a divorce for any and every reason? How can I have a stronger, happier marriage? God won’t really care if I fudge on my income tax, will he? Is gambling a sin? Why does God need my money? Just how does a person rob God? 

      

    304: Commandments 8-10

    Spreading gossip isn’t as serious as other sins, is it? How is my reputation more valuable than gold. Agree or Disagree : “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” How do I guard myself against being a gossip or harboring gossip? Agree or Disagree: “It wrong to want the best things out of life.” 

     

    305: The Christian in Prayer, Ministry, and Outreach

    What is prayer? Agree or Disagree: “Since God knows what I need, I don’t really have to pray.” How, when, and where should I pray? How often should I pray? Agree or Disagree: “Evangelism is something that only pastors can do.”
